Project timeline and recovery context

Record bridge activity, notes and checkpoints in the project, then query them without Unreal to recover context and follow asset work.

The project timeline gives an agent a durable record beyond its current conversation. It stores bridge activity and authored notes under .claudus/timeline, with checkpoint bodies that describe completed work, verification, open questions and the next action. Its local queries work while Unreal is stopped.

  • Write timeline note and timeline checkpoint entries with package and tag context. These use the backend when available and can append locally when it is unavailable; --offline explicitly selects local writing.
  • Use list, search, show, walk and asset-history to find events and trace recorded work for a package. sessions and export provide broader views.
  • Use context to assemble a compact handoff and diff to compare checkpoint boundaries. The context budget is approximate; authored checkpoint bodies can exceed it.
  • Keep the append-only daily event files and checkpoint Markdown in the project store. The query index can be rebuilt with timeline index repair.
  • Choose retention deliberately: compact, purge and prune affect retained history. Events from different writers in the same millisecond have an ID-based ordering, not a guaranteed invocation order.
