Oceanology NextGen continues to evolve with powerful new features for creating stunning ocean environments in Unreal Engine 5.

๐ŸŒŠ FFT Wave Improvementsโ€‹

The latest update brings significant improvements to our Fast Fourier Transform wave simulation:

  • Higher Resolution โ€” Support for up to 512x512 FFT grids
  • Better Performance โ€” Optimized compute shaders for 20% faster rendering
  • Improved Blending โ€” Smoother transitions between wave cascades

๐Ÿ–๏ธ Enhanced Coastline Systemโ€‹

Our coastline rendering has been completely revamped:

  • Real-time shoreline foam generation
  • Depth-based wave breaking
  • Wet sand effects with proper PBR materials
  • Configurable beach profiles

โšก Performance Optimizationsโ€‹

We've focused heavily on making NextGen run better on a wider range of hardware:

  • C++ QuadTree LOD โ€” Native code for faster tessellation decisions
  • Async GPU Readback โ€” Non-blocking buoyancy calculations
  • Instanced Rendering โ€” Better batching for foam particles

๐ŸŽฎ New Featuresโ€‹

  • Multiplayer Support โ€” Synchronized waves across clients
  • Blueprint API โ€” Easy integration with game logic
  • Preset System โ€” One-click ocean configurations
Coming Soon

We're working on real-time underwater caustics and volumetric fog for Q1 2026.
